How Chemical Peels Work
​
During a chemical peel, a specially formulated acid solution is applied to the skin, causing the outer layers to gradually peel away over several days. This process stimulates cellular renewal, resulting in improved skin texture, tone, and appearance.

During the treatment you will experience some mild stinging, tingling and / or itching, but most people find it tolerable and the peel duration and strength can be stepped up as your skin becomes used to the sessions throughout a treatment course. During the healing process, the skin may appear a little red, patchy, and dry, and the level of peeling will vary from hardly noticeable to some obviously (but lightly) peeling skin depending on the type and strength of peel.

Neostrata ProSystem is a highly effective, superficial, chemical peel system, offering a range of acid strengths with the stronger of the range only deliverable by registered healthcare professionals.
With four glycolic acid strengths plus two targeted benefit peels (mandelic and citric acid) available, a treatment plan can be designed to meet individual skin care needs and gradually stepped up as the skin responds to the treatments.
Targeted skin concerns include fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, photodamage, melasma, acne scars, acne, uneven skin texture, keratosis pilaris (hair follicles blocked with keratin) and pseudofolliculitis barbae (papules and pustules from ingrown hairs).

This chemical skin peel is an advanced medical-strength peel (Retinol 3%), which works to exfoliate, improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, help reduce acne and improve skin laxity while promoting a bright, even and clear complexion.
