Overview

Electroporation

Electroporation is a technique that uses brief, high-voltage electrical pulses to temporarily increase the permeability of cells by creating temporary pores in the lipid bilayer of the cell membrane.

This process allows normally impermeable serum ingredients to enter cells that would otherwise be blocked by the intact membrane barrier. The electrical field disrupts the membrane structure momentarily, and once the pulse ends, the membrane typically reseals itself, trapping the introduced materials inside the cell.

Electroporation is widely used in molecular biology for gene transfection, in medicine for drug delivery and cancer treatment, and in food processing for microbial inactivation and enhanced extraction of cellular contents.

Radiofrequency

Radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses controlled radiofrequency energy to heat the deeper layers of skin, typically the dermis, to stimulate collagen production and remodel (tighten) existing collagen fibres. The RF energy generates heat between 38-42°C, which causes immediate collagen contraction and triggers the body's natural healing response to produce new collagen over several months.

This process results in gradual skin tightening, improved texture, and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment is commonly used on the face, neck, and body areas where skin laxity is a concern, and typically requires multiple sessions spaced weeks apart to achieve optimal results, with effects continuing to improve for 3-6 months post-treatment.
