RF technology works by delivering energy waves that penetrate the skin, creating controlled heating of the tissues. While this can be done topically for a less invasive treatment (see Electroporation and Radiofrequency Treatments), higher temperatures and far more precise treatment can be deliver using the Focus Dual device by administering the radiofrequency via the micro-needles directly into the different layers of the skin.

This deep heating stimulates your skin's fibroblasts – the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin, your skin's natural scaffolding. When the deep layers of your skin reach the optimal temperature (50-75 degrees Celsius, three key processes begin:

• Immediate collagen fibre contraction for visible tightening

• Activation of your body's natural healing response

• Triggering of new collagen and elastin production that continues for up to 12 weeks
